Something for Her Bedside

Spring is finally here and that means new and exciting seasonal flowers are coming in.   We have so many cute vessels that are perfect for her bedside that we’re packing out with funky parrot tulips, fragrant Hyacinth, flowering kale, mini green hydrangea, mossy trix-dianthus and of course our fantastic garden roses.

Who wouldn’t want to say good morning to such a lovely bouquet?

Simple, Natural and a Little Vintage

I was so excited to work with this client from the very start.  She loved the idea of something simple, natural and a little vintage. When she brought in the various hobnail and jadeite vessels and talked of Queen Anne’s lace, it instantly struck a cord with me and I knew we were going to get along just fine.  What a nostalgic endeavor!
This was right up my alley, literally and figuratively.  Where I grew up, Queen Anne’s lace grows wild in the alleyways and ditches everywhere.  I remember romping around picking as much as my little arms could hold.  It smelled so crisp, like biting into a dill pickle!  I suppose that’s because it’s kin to a dill weed.
And the vases!  Who doesn’t remember their Mother’s or Grandmother’s cute little collection of hobnail milk vases?  I can totally remember sitting at Grandma’s with one on the kitchen table.
With all of these components put together, I can’t help feeling a sense of nostalgia.  Just take a look and see.  You might be taken back to a simpler time too.
My thanks to our wonderful client!  It was a pleasure to put together.

So this is Love….

I think I’m falling deeper in love with this arrangement the more I look at it.  There’s something about this combination of my favorite things that brings a smile to my face.  It may just have to go home with me…  but don’t worry, I can make you another one.

It is filled with beautiful peachy-pink juliet garden roses,  a lightly fragrant purple lilac, burgundy anemones with deep dark centers, velvety grey dusty miller, dusty purple and blue succulents, green tricks dianthus and tangled curly willow.  Pictures could never do this little baby justice, so you’ll have to come in to fall head-over-heels for these flowers in person!

See you soon.

Sweet Sweet Juliet.

“See how she leans her cheek upon her hand.
O that I were a glove upon that hand
That I might touch that cheek!”

We have been receiving to die for David Austin roses.  The Juliet is unlike any rose you will see. They have become one of my favorite roses in the shop and I was so happy when we started receiving them on a weekly basis.  Come by the shop to see their beauty in person.

“Good night, good night! parting is such sweet sorrow,

That I shall say good night till it be morrow.”
